Schiavello Proudly Supports: The Ruah Centre For Women & Children

With a long-held commitment to delivering meaningful support to the community, Schiavello is proud to be partnering with leading Western Australian community services organisation Ruah on the development of its new Ruah Centre for Women & Children.

Due for completion in late-2024, the Centre will provide a safe haven for women and children who have experienced family and domestic violence, helping to access the support they need to be safe, heal, recover and thrive. The seven-storey space will provide access to a range of holistic wrap-around services in the one location.

Schiavello WA State Director, Luke Bayley says the commitment to the circular economy was one of the key reasons Ruah were keen to partner with Schiavello.

“Our furniture is designed with longevity and re-usability in mind, allowing us to re-purpose and donate items that are still in fantastic condition to important projects such as this,” he explains.

“The opportunity to be making a positive impact to the women and children Ruah is supporting within the building itself, but also to the environment is a huge win-win.”

Ruah CEO Debra Zanella says they are very grateful for the ongoing partnership between Schiavello and Ruah.

“This is a really tangible way for Schiavello to make a big difference,” says Debra. “This furniture will make a massive difference in helping to create a space where women and children feel comfortable and can take the time they need for healing and recovery.”

Luke and other members of the Schiavello WA team recently joined the Ruah team onsite, to see the build and discuss how the furniture provided will be utilised.

“It was great to see Ruah and Architectus’s vision in the flesh. Bringing in the furniture pieces in the coming weeks will help to make this project feel even more welcoming, adding some softness and colour to the floors. It won’t be long now until the women and children this place was designed for can experience the elements of comfort and safety woven throughout the design.”
