Overview

A New Age Approach for Kane Construction’s Future Focused Head Office

Situated on the upper levels of 510 Church Street, Richmond, with a vista spanning
both the eastern suburbs and CBD, sits Kane Construction’s new corporate headquarters. Designed by ARM Architecture, the bold fitout pays homage to the construction group’s history while delivering a new-age workplace for the next-age workforce.

The design was “inspired by Kane’s goal to create a dynamic, mixed-use workplace that accommodated varied groups and teams – one that encourages connectivity and engagement in a central location with flexible requirements,” says ARM Director Jesse Judd. This desire was fulfilled with a suite of Schiavello products across the Krossi and Neo Workstation ranges, flexible in both function for each individual’s comfort and health, and by way of accommodating different ways of working.

Flexible workstations

With versatility and sustainability in mind

Freestanding, fixed height workstations complete the clean aesthetic of executive offices, while various configurations of back-to-back clusters line the main work floor. These sit-to-stand clusters are thoughtfully designed to maximise flexibility - both for individual preferences and team-wide working styles - while using less materials for the sustainably-minded Kane. For more casual working requirements, an adapted Krossi desk with an open semi-circle table top bookends the Neo Workstations to provide a relaxed, informal location for quick collaborations, while Krossi Tables bring to life the social spaces crucial to creating connected teams in this time of hybrid working.

Unique fit out

A space that supports teams now and into the future

As we move away from the traditional working model, our new workplace truly allows for a higher degree of flexibility and connectivity across all of our teams both in the office, on the construction site and in times of transitions between projects,” says Kane’s Managing Director Tristan Forster. This sentiment aligns closely to Schiavello’s Purposeful Workplace ethos, where multiple spaces varying in function enable a curation of experiences based on diverse and evolving needs.

This is just the beginning of the similarities between Kane and Schiavello. Both are Melbourne-based institutions that have thrived over decades by fully understanding and adapting to individual project needs as well as evolving trends in the ways people engage with the spaces around them. This future focus is not only a value reflected in Kane’s everyday business activities; it is now physically embodied through the design and fit out of its space.
